I don't wish to spoil your fun, but this definition may keep posters on the right track.
A limerick is a humourous verse of five anapestic (short, short, long syllables) lines, of which the first, second, and fifth have three accents (last syllable), and rhyme with each other, and the third and fourth have two accents and rhyme with each other..
The sample limerick from the 4th post by amb141 is reproduced here.
Here is a classic limerick as an example:
There was an old man of Darjeeling
Who boarded a bus bound for Ealing
It said on the door
`Don't spit on the floor'
So he stood up and spat on the ceiling.
