Well it is now 5:15 am and I have just finished a night/morning of talking to Mike on AIM and Tom Dorr at A Small Orange, our host server.

I have signed up with an account for mypcclinic.com and made the first months payment. Tim has said he will tidy up the loose ends and transfer payments into my name for OUR SITE

This is all very new and strange to me but it looks as though we have done it so fingers crossed and let's hope it all goes through OK

G'night all :tired:

PS thanks to those of you who have donated so far.

I have upgraded my Paypal account to Premiere which means that I can now accept payments from Credit and Debit cards (we have to pay a small handling charge) as well as from other Paypal accounts (NO charges).

For those who wanted to donate by cheque/check I will PM you mine and Amie's home address

Les made this post at the end of Ranger's Bob's thread "MPC is Ending", but obviously it is such important news that it deserved to have it's very own thread. We have been up now for two nights in a row until nearly 6.0 am, working behind the scenes to save MPC. Last night we finally got confirmation from the server that all our files and been saved, and the fees are paid for the next month. There is still an enormous amount to learn on how to run MPC as a web site, especially creating, editing and publishing the actual site pages, something I have exceedingly little knowledge or experience of, so please be patient if things are not updated as quickly as they should be.

Thank you, and here is to the future of Our MPC. :)

Absolutely awesome. I wish I could think of something deservedly distinguished to write to commemorate this overwhelming occassion, but I am too stunned with respect, and gratitude. Thank you.

Long Live Our Site :)

Les and Amie; Thank you for all your dedication and hard work
in behalf of the MPC rescue project. Could you possibly provide
some guidelines for us as to what kind of financial help is needed
to keep this project afloat?

Thank you so much. I don't know if you can imagine how much appreciated you are. Spending your time and money on something like this, not everybody would be so dedicated.
This is a place where lots of friends can meet, exchange ideas, thoughts and helpful hints.

That is a difficult question to answer as everything is so new to us, I found this from a link on our home page

FUND MPC (http://www.mypcclinic.com/content/view/89/83/)

How much does MPC need?
Compared to most PC help sites our costs are exponentially lower. Many help sites costs anywhere between $1000-2000 dollars a year and some upwards into the 10's of thousands to run them. Since this is a not-for-profit site and no staff member draws any money from the site our cost per year is exponentially lower. Of course the price changes daily and as we grow so will the cost. As of now the cost of hosting and forums is: $424. That pays for hosting and forums. No one makes a penny from the site, the only desgnation between members and staff is moderation and planning responsibilities.

I am being guided by Mikes words but I know that there will be month to month costs and then periodic 'one off costs'

Thank you Amie and Les for stepping in and rescuing MPC! I sure do like the subject of this thread rather than the "MPC is ending"!

Well, since the other thread is closed I'm posting here. Even though I'm not here much lately (too much going on at home; not well lately) I have always liked this forum. My favorite is the Graphics forum and Linda has taught me so much! Thank you so much Linda; and all who have saved MPC as well. I sent a donation using Paypal and hope it goes through. I look forward to seeing MPC in operation for many years.

If so, you can look for my donation soon! As soon as you verify this, I will edit the post and remove the address.
